Introduction

Beidh an Coinbhinsiún Bord Abhann Dúbh  ar siúl ag Brughthéine ar an gCéadaoin 2rd  Nollaig ag 20:00.

Tugann sé an-áthas orm mar Rúnaí don Bord Abhann Dúbh a chur i láthair a thabhairt duit tuarascáil ar ghníomhaíochtaí an bhoird do 2015.

Ba mhaith liom an deis seo a thapú chun comhghairdeas a dhéanamh go léir an Craobh agus Sraith buaiteoirí i Abhann Dúbh do 2015.

Ba mhaith liom tréaslú freisin leis na gClubanna sa Roinn a gabhadh Contae onóracha na bliana seo.

Bhí ionadaíocht ag an rannóg Abhann Dúbh go maith freisin ar fhoirne Chorcaí i 2015 agus ba mhaith liom comhghairdeas a ghabháil as an Roinn a chaith an geansaí dearg agus iad siúd a bhí mar chuid de Tá coiste roghnóireachta do 2015,

I mbliana arís bhliain ghnóthach í an roinn agus ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil le mo chomhghleacaithe oifigigh agus baill an choiste as ucht a gcúnamh uile i rith na bliana..

Mar fhocal scoir ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil leis na gClubanna as a gcomhoibriú ar fud na bliana agus guím gach rath orthu le haghaidh 2015.

The Avondhu Board Convention will take place at Churchtown on Wednesday 2nd December at 8pm.

It gives me great pleasure as Secretary of the Avondhu Board to present to you  a report on the activities of the board for 2015.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the Championship and League winners in Avondhu for 2015.

I also want to congratulate the Clubs in the Division who captured County honours this year.

The Avondhu Division was also well represented on Cork teams in 2015 and I want to Congratulate those from the Division who wore the red jersey and those who were part of selection committee's for 2015.

This year was again a busy year for the Division the Board under took many projects outside of the day to day running of the Board

A total of €4 500 was given for grants towards development work carried out by clubs in our Division this will continue in 2016.

The Board also ran a very successful Golf Classic in the Charleville  Golf Club the Money from this event went towards  Grants and  Coaching in our Division

Cultúir agus Gaeilge

Bhí  suntais den bhliana Scór roinnt  Abhainn Dhubh a bhí nuair a fuair Diarmuid Ó Gobhann, Mainistir Fear Mhí  ballraíocht saol  coiste Scór Cuig Mumhan san Grand Hotel Mainistir Fear Mhí i mí Meitheamh.  Bhí  an onóir a tabhairt do ón comhairle Cúige Mumhan. Bhunaigh Diarmuid Scór san roinnt seo i 1996 chun ár teanga dúchas agus ár cultúr a chuir chun cinn. Tá sé an t-uachtarán oinigh  coiste Scór freisin.

Bhí an gníomhaíocht Scór san roinnt fíordhíomách mar níor bhain Abhainn Dhubh aon teideal 2015/15. Bhí sé fíordhíomách mar níor glacadh ach dhá cumann san roinnt san comórtas Scór na n-óg.

Tá an scéal i bhád níos fear maidir leis Scór na Páistí san roinnt. Bhí níos mó na leath na scoileanna a glacadh part i trí leathcheannais agus na buaiteoir i gach ceann ag dul tríd go dtí an cluiche ceannais. Mar sin bhí oíche den ceád scoth i Beal Atha hULla , ceol , damhsa agus amhránaíocht. Bhí an ait dubh le daoine.  Tá bhuíochas mór a chur in iúl den na múinteoirí mar chuir siad ana chuid oibre isteach chun na páistí óga. Tá an coiste fior buíoch le sin.

Tá ualach mór ar na clubanna chun taobhaíocht a chuir leis Scór. Is bealach iontach é an teangana agus an cultúr a chuir chun cinn.  Mura na chuirinn aon cumann taobhaíocht den  Scór níl siad a deanann a dhualgas. Caithfidh gach cumann oifigeach cultúir Gaeilge a thoghadh gach blain ar ab AGM ach níl sé ach déanta ar an páipéir den chuid is mó den na comanna.

Tá creidiúint mór le Daithí Mac Piarais i gcor le an obair dian atá a dheanamh aige leis an Scór scéim san an roinnt Abhainn Dhubh. Creidiúint freisin le Fionnbarra Ó hEachthigheirn, Tadhg Ó Rinn, Daithi Ó Corraidh, Liam hÁinle agus Alec O Muirgheasa ar taobh an obair dian atá a chuir isteach orthu. Focail buíochas freisin le Micheal Ó Donnabháin, is é fear an tí ar na comórtais go léir agus buíochas don na breithiúnaí freisin.

Highlight of the year for Scór in the Avondhu Division was when Derry Gowen, Fermoy received Life Membership of Munster Scór Committee in the Grand Hotel in Fermoy back in June the honour being bestowed on him by the Munster Council. Derry founded Scór in this division back in 1969 to nurture and promote our native language and culture. He is also the Honorary President of the Munster Scór Committee.

In Scór activity within the division it was somewhat disappointing that none of the county titles on offer found its home in Avondhu in 2015/15. The participation of clubs within the division is very disappointing in both Scór and n-Óg and Scór Sinsear with just 2 clubs taking part in the Scór na n-Óg.

Scór na Páistí is the standard bearer within the division. Over half of the schools took part in the three semi finals with the winners in each semi progressing to the final. This provided a wonderful afternoon of music, song and dance in Ballyhooly with a full house present. A huge debt of gratitude is due to the teachers for the huge amount of time that they put in preparing the young children for these competitions and this is greatly appreciated by the committee.

There is a huge onus on clubs to actively promote and support Scór which is a valuable outlet for our Irish language and culture. Clubs that do not support this are failing in their duty. Each club is to have elected at their AGM's an Irish Cultural Officer but a majority of clubs just do so as a paper exercise.

Huge credit is due to Daithi Pierce for the tireless work that he is doing to keep Scór going in Avondhu. Credit also to the Scór committee of Barry Aherne, Tim Ring, Dave Curry, Liam Hanley and Alec Morrissey for their efforts. A word of thanks also to Michael O'Donovan who acts as Fear an Tí at all our competitions and also our very dedicated judges.
