Tugann sé an-áthas orm mar Rúnaí don Bord Abhann Dúbh a chur i láthair a thabhairt duit tuarascáil ar ghníomhaíochtaí an bhoird do 2013.
Ba mhaith liom an deis seo a thapú chun comhghairdeas a dhéanamh go léir an Craobh agus Sraith buaiteoirí i Abhann Dúbh do 2013.

COISTE NA BUNSCOILEANNA.
The officers of Coiste na Bunscoileanna and teachers that promote our games with in the primary schools of the division deserve great credit. I want to thank them and urge the juvenile clubs to keep supporting Coiste na Bunscoileanna.
SCÓR
The year in review was a relatively successful one for Avondhu Scór with County and Munster titles being claimed by teams proudly representing our division and we also had two teams participating in All-Ireland finals. The Clyda Rovers Scór na n-Óg team of Saoirse, Garrett, Donncha and Cormac O’Hanlon reached the All-Ireland final but unfortunately they did not claim the ultimate prize. The Buttevant Scór Sinsear Ceol Uirlise team of Alan Finn, Mairead Fitzgibbon, Aileen O’Callaghan, Anna Barrett and Ger Naughton also made it to the All-Ireland final but unfortunately ultimate glory was not to be theirs.
We also had County winners in the Scór na Páistí. In the Ceol Aonair Gormfhlaith Ní Shíocháin representing Gael Scoil de h-Íde Fermoy claimed victory in her competition while we had to settle for the runner up spot in the Aithriseoireacht competition where we were represented by Maire Fitzgibbon from Milford.
Club participation in the Scór Sinsear and Scór na n-Óg is far from satisfactory. There is an onus on every club to actively promote our native language and culture, every club must have a cultural officer appointed at their AGM’s. Clubs should put much more thought into who they elect as cultural officer and not to just put a name down on paper. If not for the efforts of the scór committee in getting clubs to compete we would not be able to even stage a divisional final. Thankfully the Scór na Páistí is much more successful with almost 60% of the schools in the division competing. There is great credit due to the teachers for the amount of time and effort that they put in after school hours to prepare their pupils for these competitions and this is very much appreciated by the Scór committee.
A number of changes have been made to the format of Scór for this year which in our opinion do not add to the competitions, namely the Trath na gCeist being changed to a table quiz format and the Nuachleas being eliminated from Scór to be replaced by a Léiriú competition.
The Scór committee is indebted to Michael O’Donovan who has acted as Fear an Tí for our competitions and to our dedicated judges.
The board acknowledges and appreciates the work of the Scór committee Daithi Pierce, Barry Aherne, Tim Ring, Dave Curry, Liam Hanley and Alec Morrissey and they are hard at work in preparations for this years competition.

Social Media
This year the Avondhu Board decided to set up a new website. This was set up with the help of Esports Manger a soft ware company used by the County Board. The website has been a roaring success and the public can now see what activities are taking place in the Board at first hand.
The website is a one stop shop for fixtures, results, and News in our Division.
Also within our website we have a very active Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Our Twitter account has 1,588 Followers while our Facebook has 956 Fans. As a Board we will endeavour to keep improving our website for 2014. We would hope that all Clubs in the Division would have a Twitter account in 2014.
I have inserted a graph below to show the activity of our Website since it launched in Mid February to present day we have had 51,417 hits,
I would like to thank our IT committee for all their hard work in getting the Website up and running especially Ciaran O Regan and John Courtney for updating the Twitter and Facebook accounts with great efficiency, also a big thank you to Tracey Kennedy County Pro for all her help.

Coaching
In Avondhu we are so fortunate to have great Coaches looking after our young Hurlers and Footballers I would like to complement these people for the great work they are doing. Unfortunately the Avondhu Board are facing into 2014 without a Coach of our own this is unfortunate and at the moment there is no easy solution to the problem. I would like to thank our last Coach Seamus Murphy for all his time and dedication to the job, I would encourage our Clubs to try and get Coaches in their own Community to go in to the schools and continue on the work of teaching our young people the skills of Hurling and Football.
Thanks to Kevin O Callaghan and Noel Crowley for all there help during the past year.
Cultúir agus Gaeilge
Tá dhá bhliain den treimhse trí bliana caite agam anois mar Oifigeach Cultúir Abhainn Dubh.
Tá athas orm go bhfuil feabhas beag ar dul chun cinn na Gaeilge i measc na gclub. Tá a Oifeagach Cultuir féin ag gach club anois agus is maith an rud é seo. Ta sé tabhachtach go ndéanfadh gach club iarracht an duine is oiriúnai sa chlub a fháil cun glacadh leis on bpost seo. Maidir le clár na gcluichí tá sé go hiontach gur usáid na clubanna go leir ainmneacha na n-imreoirí as Gaeilge chomh maith le as Bearla. Ta sé an-tabhachtach Gaeilge a usáid ar an gcludach. Chomh maith le sin tá dul chun cinn an-mhór déanta ag clubanna maidir le fograí a chur suas ina seomraì feistis, in a hallai agus ar uile. Ta fograí ar nos 'Fir' 'Mná' 'Rèiteoir' 'Chugat' agus ar uile le feiscint go forleathan anois.
Ba mhaith liom buiocas ó chroí a ghabháil le Liam O Laochdha, Oifigeach CultÇir an Contae, 2012 agus le Ciarán Mac Cana, Oifigeach Cultùir an Chontae, 2013, a chabhraigh liom mo phost a chomhlíonadh. Maidir le Scor tá roinnt rialacha nua leagtha amach don seasúr seo chugainn agus beidh siad seo suimiuil, dearfainn. Impim ar gach club leanuint ar aghaidh chun Scór na bPaisti, Scór na nOg, agus Scór Sinsear a chur chun cinn.
Go raibh mile maith agaibh go leir.

I want to thank everyone who helped to run these Leagues especially the Clubs for their cooperation. The Imokilly Secretary and Board Members who attended meetings in Fermoy to arrange Fixtures and to the Avondhu Board Vice Chairman and PRO who really worked hard to ensure these Leagues would be successful. Hopefully these Leagues can go from strength to strength in the coming years.
