Success for Avondhu at Scor Na Paisti

At the recent county finals of Scór na Páistí held in Ovens the schools representing the Avondhu division fared exceptionally well  with a number of winners and runners up. 


In the Solo Singing Seán Óg Fraher representing Kildorrery National School emerged victorious while in the Solo Dance Lauren Coates from Shanballymore National School claimed top honours.


In the Ballad Group the Killavullen School group of Lauren Dorgan, Aveen Curtin, Amelia Roche, Sophie Linehan and Ellie May Dorgan emerged as winners and the other winners were the Shanballymore National School in the Leiriú and their group consisted of Daniel Sheedy, Emily Burke, Oisin Noonan, Éabhs Sheedy, Aoife O'Leary, Aaron O'Neill, Kelly O'Grady and Cillian McSweeney. 


There were also a number of runners up positions taken by Avondhu schools on the day. In the Figure Dancing the Ballygown team of Clodagh O'Shea, Aideen O'Connell, Ciarán Cosgrove, Seanán Crean, Willow O'Connore, Joe O'Donoghue, Billy Buckley and Tomas Joyce filled the runners up position, Jane O'Donnell representing Glenahulla National School did likewise in the Recitation and Lauren Dorgan representing Killavullen National School also finished in the runners up spot in the Seanós Dancing and the Ballygown National School group of Aideen O'Connell, Nicole O'Hanlon, Clodagh O'Shea, Ally Noonan, Willow O'Connor, Loren O'Callaghan, Joe O'Donoghue and Seanán Crean filled the runners up position in the Set Dancing.
