  • Apr 20,2026

The finals of the Cork Scór na Páistí were held recently in the Eire Óg pavilion in Ovens and

performers from the Avondhu schools performed with distinction having come through a

tough competition locally over the previous weeks.

Pride of place goes to Seán Óg Fraher from Kildorrery who won the Solo Singing

competition and in so doing retained the title that he won in 2025.

The Shanabllymore Figure Dance team of Eimear Coates, Chloe O’Neill, Saoirse O’Keeffe,

Lily-May Whelan, Ollie O’Grady, Caleb Cronin, Fintan O’Leary and Darren Murray finished

runners up in their competition.

The Killavullen quintet of Anna Dorgan, Muireann Dorgan, Danny Howard, Conor Dunne

and Liam Ryan finished in second place in the Instrumental Music competition.

In the Set Dancing competition Araglin represented by Carly Delea, Shona Daly, Lauren

Kenneally, Caoimhe Hynes, Oisin Russell, Tadhg Kenneally, Aoibheann Daly and Sadie

Delea finished in the runners up position.

A sincere thanks is due to the teachers in the national schools of Avondhu for the huge

amount of work and effort that they put in year after year in the preparation of the young

boys and girls for the Scór na Páistí competitions.
